Welcome to the creative world of my blog, where I share stories, photos, and videos of our adventures with our beloved Newfoundland dogs, Raven and Buddha. Join me as I share their adventures in France and beyond.

Raven came to us 8-years ago from a breeder in Kansas. When she arrived at the airport, she was cowered in the back of her crate, afraid to come out. We talked to her for a while, telling her it was going to be alright before I finally got her into my arms. We sat together inside the car for quite a while, trying to calm this bundle of joy before we drove home.
Once home, her personality came alive. She was sassy, spunky, stubborn, and full of energy. Right away, it became clear that her mission in life was to do everything her mom didn't want her to do. Unfortunately, once she went outside, all that confidence changed. Raven became that scared little puppy we picked up at the airport. Everything has changed since we arrived in France.
Buddha is our "bonus dog." When Hurricane Dorian ravished the Bahamas, there was an urgent message on the Newfoundland Club of Florida's Facebook group for a foster. The owner's home had been destroyed, and the rebuild process would be slowed by Covid. After caving in, Clint picked 5-year-old Buddha up from the airport and knew right away he would fit in with our little family.
The initial timeframe for foster was 6-12 months, depending on the rebuilding process. Once the six-month mark passed, we began asking when his owners would be able to take him back. Six turned to eight, then to 12. At 13 months, the owner made a gut-wrenching call, asking us to adopt Buddha as our own. Truth be known, he was already ours. Buddha makes us laugh every single day!
